Gym Courses

A lot of people in the UK are struggling to make ends meet on their current salary and see working part time as a fitness instructor as a good option. As a result, gym courses are growing in popularity. Many who take the courses are already very interested in sport and fitness. However, a lot are not, they are simply looking for a new career opportunity. In many cases as soon as they start the course they become hooked and in preparation for their new career begin to take better care of themselves as well. To become a gym or fitness instructor looking healthy and fit is important if you want to suceed.

Types of Gym Courses

There are several kinds of gym courses available. Which is right for you depends on what area of the fitness industry you want to work. It also depends on how far you want to progress within the industry.

The most basic course is the Level 2 Fitness Instruction course. This course gives you the basic skills and knowledge you need to become a gym or fitness class instructor. Most people take this relatively short course as a stepping-stone into the fitness industry.

A Level 3 Studio Instructor ETM course takes you to the next level. In order to take this course you have to have first successfully completed a Level 2 course. This course requires you to be quite fit to complete. You are learning how to plan and deliver a studio based aerobics class and have to be fit enough to complete several classes every day.

Another very popular course is the Level 3 Personal Instructor course. As the name of the course indicates, completing the course allows you to become a personal trainer.

Finding Good Quality Gym Courses

There are quite a few gym courses available, but it is important to take a course whose qualifications are recognised as valid by the fitness industry. Courses that are recognised by REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) are the best ones to complete. Look for a provider who offers ongoing training, which can help you to build your career.
