Demand for ecommerce fulfilment is strong

A considerable number of firms now make use of ecommerce fulfilment services and it seems demand for order fulfilment of this kind will remain strong for some time to come. Many consumers now source goods over the web and so companies need to find effective ways of delivering the items to their customers.

One group of consumers who seem keen to take advantage of online sales are mothers. According to research carried out by Casabu in association with Mumsnet, more than 80 per cent of mums polled said they shop online for themselves and their children at least once or twice a month.

They are taking advantage of a whole range of technology to make these purchases. As well as PCs, they are using smartphones and tablets.

A major motivation for many of the mothers questioned appeared to be money. Over half of the 1,000 women polled said they always compare prices when online shopping, while 90 per cent admitted they like to feel as though they are getting a bargain when they part with their cash.

Responding to the figures, Rachel Oxburgh, chief executive officer of Casabu, said: “This research confirms that mums are looking for great deals on exciting brands and that they will make use of the full range of technology available to ensure they don’t miss out.”

She added: “Mums still want to dress their children and themselves in quality brands, but economic necessity means they want to find great deals.”

As well as being a good way of finding bargains, online shopping can also be more convenient for consumers.

To help them meet the burgeoning demand for products over the web, companies can seek out effective ecommerce fulfilment service providers. As long as they choose a reliable order fulfilment specialist, they can make the task of getting goods from A to B much easier.
