Cards With A Difference – Music Greeting Cards

What exactly are music greeting cards? In the most basis sense of the phrase music greeting cards are greeting cards that play music. While not a very modern invention, they are something of a novelty brought in my miniaturising sound equipment. Most music greeting cards of the first generation of technology were limited to playing a single time until the card was closed and opened again, and could only really play a small chunk of audio. In addition to this the speaker system in the music greeting cards were not particularly good, and while you could roughly tell what it was saying, the audio was at beast fuzzy and not all that great. As technology moved along these music greeting cards did improve, the amount of audio they could play go steadily longer, they began to loop when opened instead of just playing once, and the quality of the speakers got dramatically better up until the point where they were indeed reasonable for a very cheap greeting card. On the whole music greeting cards will continue on this path of improvement up until the point where there cannot be any more improvement without affecting overheads on cost and profit.

Other types of music greeting cards are really just greeting cards with a musical theme. Some might have instruments, others might just have a general music style, and others might feature popular bands of the past and present. On average if you’re going to give music greeting cards to people, make sure they’re a fan of music first. This can mean anything from being into a specific band, or playing an instrument, or really just having a general interest in music from other perspectives such as being a prospective sound technician or even someone looking to get into music journalism. Getting the card right for someone is what music greeting cards are more or less about, it’s about getting the tone right for someone to enjoy themselves with. While not dramatically important on some levels, thinking through the card you’re giving someone makes it last longer in their memory and will be looked upon fondly.

Music Greeting Cards have come a long way since ones that beeped “Happy Birthday to you”. The talking cards from Talking Print can play any sound at CD quality, allowing you to really personalise your message.
