The advantages of using EYFS software

The EYFS which stands for early year’s foundation stage sets the standards that early years childcare providers must meet to ensure that the children in their care develop well and are kept healthy and safe at all times. The purpose of the EYFS is to promote teaching and learning in order to get children prepared for school. The EYFS will give children a wide range of skills and knowledge in order to set the right foundation for progress through school. Early year’s Childcare settings such as nurseries have many guidelines, rules and regulations to follow where children are concerned and assessing EYFS aims is one of these. It can be difficult for early years settings to keep accurate records of each child’s development in terms of the EYFS but there are now web based tools that allow childcare settings and schools to easily record each child’s EYFS goals and achievements to keep an up to date, easily accessible record that can be shared with parents and other teachers.

Such early years foundation stage monitoring systems are already in use in many schools and nurseries and are proving very successful. From September 2012 the EYFS framework will be mandatory for all early years’ childcare settings which will include assessments from birth to the end of reception and this will include the new 17 profile goals. Web based software that can record these 17 gaols for each stage of a child’s development will undoubtedly help teachers meet their EYFS requirements. The software will allow users to record, assess, track and report using the EYFS for the last five years.

Using the early year’s foundation stage software users can mark children on the 17 new EYFS profile goals. Teachers will be able to attach photos, videos and documents to support their work and these marks will automatically get fed into a tracking and analysis tool. This EYFS tracking and analysis tool will allow teachers to track targets and identify progress in each child so they can easily identify any children who are falling behind and who are not meeting their 17 goal profiles and need further development. Such tools that make the early year’s foundation stage assessments so easy to manage are essential in today’s educational settings to give children the best opportunities to thrive.
