The Italian job
Italians are not as in tune with the current British style for open plan living. Indeed, it is far more preferable that the kitchen be as far removed from the dining room as possible. However, they do want to see there is room for a dining table in the kitchen.
Italian house buyers also tend to demand properties with character such as exposed beams and brickwork. Despite this though, they also very want state of the art fittings and, if looking at apartments, lift access is very important.
The French connection
French house buyers are also more likely to buy a property with a separate kitchen which has the room for a family table. However, though Italians will also want a bathroom complete with bidet and shower, the French are not so worried about such things, though a bath is.
The majority of Italians and the French are appalled by carpets in the bathroom. This trend has fallen out of favour here too, though many older properties may still have this. Consider removing the carpet and replacing with some modern bathroom specific flooring.
From Russia with love
There are a lot of Russians looking to buy property in the UK, with London topping their shopping lists. Unsurprisingly perhaps, the biggest draws are luxurious properties. Apartments must have a concierge for example, and entrance halls are nearly as important, so make the most of the light in the area.
Luxury fittings in the kitchen and bathroom are important for Russians too, whilst hard floors throughout will always be favoured.
