Check the quality of House Alarms prior to the Christmas period

I don’t know about you but I always feel uneasy leaving my house in the run-up to Christmas even though our property is fitted with one the most sophisticated House Alarms known to mankind. I know it’s daft, If burglars are going to break into the home they’ll do so regardless of the time of year but if I was going to break into somebody’s property (which I’m not I hasten to add) surely the week before Christmas would be the prime time when there are plenty of expensive presents under the tree. Bearing that in mind, it’s probably the ideal time to ensure that intruder alarm systems are working properly and Personal Alarms are up to scratch. Can you imagine how upsetting it would be to come home and find your home ransacked?

What to do if a house alarm is inadequate

Like I say, we had a new alarm system fitted last year and it’s one of those all-singing, all-dancing types of House Alarms that runs on a wireless system. It gives me peace of mind knowing that our equipment is bang-up-to-date and I’d recommend to anyone that didn’t have security measures in place to rectify this as soon as possible. Your home is an open invite to thieves without preventative measures in place. You might as well leave your front door wide open and erect a sign saying ‘Please take what you like!’ If the house is lacking security measures get this fixed right away and have House Alarms fitted as soon as you can. Moreover, whilst you’re at it, consider buying Personal Alarms as well and stay protected while you are out and about.

Isn’t that expensive?

It doesn’t have to be. The cost of House Alarms and Personal Alarms has tumbled in recent years and wired or wireless systems are more affordable than you might think. Sophisticated systems are available for a few hundred pounds and wireless house alarms are very simple to install. They’re full of intuitive features and will even text you or call you if your home is being broken into so you are ready to react straight away. I still feel a little uneasy when I leave my home during the approach to Christmas but I also have peace of mind knowing that at the first sign of trouble our alarm system will activate; hopefully that won’t happen though!
