We had a right scream this Halloween. We’d sent out invitations to a ‘Monster Ball’ and decided to throw a spine-tingling party at a venue that would put the fear of god into any living person. Actually the venue was our house, but we had gone to the effort of decorating it as eerie gothic manor. We had lanterns and spooky special effects, with bats, spiders and fake cobwebs hanging everywhere. I must admit, the house looked suitably scary and we insisted that everyone wear Stargirl Fancy Dress Costumes or any brand of their choosing or they wouldn’t have a ghost of a chance of getting in. Halloween is the ideal time to wear fancy dress and if you can’t get into the spirit of things at this time of year you must be a zombie or something.

What did I wear?

As the head of the household (supposedly) I already knew the type of costume that I was going to wear. My wife had already chosen a witch’s outfit from the collection of Stargirl Fancy Dress Costumes and I was veering towards a full-on Frankenstein look or going for the old, cape, fangs and white makeup look as a tribute to Dracula. In the end I opted for the latter costume and dressed head to toe as the Count. I thought I looked fangtastic as I applied fake blood around my chin and that was down to the quality of the fancy dress outfit. The house was a hive of activity on Halloween as we busily prepared for a legion of mummies, werewolves and Devils to descend in their droves.

Everyone got into the sense of the occasion this year and there were so many different types of Stargirl Fancy Dress Costumes on display. Some ladies dressed up as corpse brides, others came as skeletons and there were gothic style dresses plus vampire costumes in every single corner of our home. It was really funny to see everyone enjoying themselves dressed as different types of characters and it made me realise that fancy dress is perfect for people of all ages. It doesn’t matter how old or how young you are you can have tons of fun dressing up in costumes if you let your hair down once in a while.
