Pick Cricket Bats that enable you to hit six after six
When I was at school my favourite sport was cricket and as well as being a fairly competent bowler I was blessed with decent batting skills also. I seem to remember our school had rather old fashioned Cricket Bats but at least the Cricket Clothing we wore for regional matches was bang up to date. I grew a little tired of using the school’s Cricket Bats for matches though; in my mind I thought they affected our performance. So I saved my paper round money up and went shopping for a new bat at a high street sports shop that sold a variety of cutting-edge Cricket Bats. It quickly became apparent that choosing new Cricket Bats wasn’t as straightforward as you might think and there’s quite a lot to consider.
Get the size right
When you go shopping for Cricket Bats at a store that sells Cricket Clothing one of the first things to establish is what size bat you require. Obviously if you are an adult that’s not a problem, you simply choose full size Cricket Bats from your preferred manufacturer. However it’s different for junior players that need Cricket Bats for club or school matches. The sizes of Crickets bats vary depending on how tall you are they range from size 0 for players up to 120cm to full size bats for people that are over 175cm. I can remember purchasing a size 6 cricket bat because I was only about 5’ 3” at the time. It’s easy to get the size right though, just ask in store for advice.
Only the finest willow will suffice!
Once I knew the size of the Cricket Bats I should be looking for at the Cricket Clothing store I was free to choose from junior bats that fell within my price range. I kind of had my heart set on Kookaburra Cricket Bats because some of my favourite players were using them at the time. I knew they were made from the finest English willow and the Cricket Bats had brilliant profiles that were hand crafted to deliver the ultimate mix of power and performance. So I counted my cash and I could just about afford my preferred choice of Kookaburra Cricket Bats, you can imagine how delighted I was when I smashed a six with it on its first outing on a cricket field.
