What Are Smoothie Bars ?

What are smoothie bars? You might have seen them starting to pop up in central shopping areas and the like. In terms of business expansion smoothie bars have been popping up everywhere, and for good reason. While smoothie bars are still growing in terms of popularity they are positioning themselves to be the major drinks alternative to compete against the various coffee shops and cafes you see in central shopping areas. First of all smoothie bars are set up in a very visible location, in a lot of places they are out in the open on a walkway, the design of the bars themselves are very much set up as something eye catching and colourful. Some smoothie bars have been known to emulate the look of American diners in order to stand out against the often bland and dull stalls you see in central shopping areas. Most original smoothie bars were there as a healthy alternative to other drinking establishments but have recently begin taking a ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ approach when it comes to this, and offering a wide range of beverages which may or may not be healthy depending on what exactly is in them.

When smoothie bars are set up there is something of a degree of advertising in order to get people aware of them, especially if they unfortunately happen to be placed somewhere that is not exactly visible. Sometimes you have wall mounts pointing in the direction of the stand; you have leaflet campaigns out on the high street, and people standing with signs pointing in the direction of the smoothie bars in order to get people to go drink there. This kind of advertising is very aggressive but it does tend to work in a lot of circumstances, so smoothie bars often utilise them in order to get a leg up over bigger, well placed, and more well known competitors. The presence of smoothie bars is a very welcome change to the much compartmentalised design of most shopping centres now, so you can be sure that for aesthetic reasons at least that smoothie bars will continue to be around for some time.
